Main List - Poem
Big Sister
  I admired you from afar.
With pretended disdain,
I ratted you out to Mom and Dad.

Never punished, you escaped,
And somehow I suffered,
Learning about loyalty
And unfairness in life.

When I grew up
And the days all became black
Because of what he did to me.
I turned to you and bared my soul
Cried into your arms
And told you things
I was scared to utter.

When the world died
And the light was extinguished,
I needed my sister
To hold me
Because I was scared of men
For a very long time.

You healed me.
I never really told you that.
You saved me.
I never really thanked you.

Yet as time fast-forwarded,
And the world began to revolve again,
I slowly found myself
Dancing in your footsteps of life.
